Chelo's Hometown Bar & Grille Receives 2009 Restaurant Neighbor Award

On Wednesday, December 2, 2009, the Chelo family was awarded the National Restaurant Association 2009 Restaurant Neighbor Award for their outstanding community involvement. The award was presented at the RI Hospitality and Tourism Association Stars of the Industry Dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at the Crossings and recognized the family for their participation in many local organizations, programs and events in RI.

One of the most recognizable events that Chelo's Hometown Bar & Grille participated in was ABC's Extreme Home Makeover - Warwick, RI when the Silva family received a much-needed home renovation. Chelo's was there to feed the more than 1000 volunteers over the eight day project. Other local organizations and events that have benefited from the Chelo family's generosity include Junior Achievement of RI, National Multiple Sclerosis Society - RI Chapter, Hasbro Children's Hospital Radiothon, Special Olympics, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and RI Food Bank and Toys for Tots Annual Drives.
